Molybdenum has a key role in the function of nitrogen metabolism. It is necessary for chlorophyll formation as well as iron and phosphorus metabolism. Although required in very trace amounts, deficiency can lead such issues as reduced plant growth and reduced leaf area. Low soil pH and low levels of organic matter can heighten molybdenum deficiency. Foliar application is an effective and widely used means of supplying additional Molybdenum nutrition.
Foliar applications should be avoided during extremes of climate and during flowering. Campbells Solu-Moly may be applied with most herbicides, insecticides, fungicides or nutrient sprays. It is compatible with
most chemicals, but for unknown or doubtful chemicals a test mix should be made up.
Campbells Solu-Moly is recommended for foliar application. Recommended rates of application vary between 150 to 500 ml/ha – specific rates will depend on the crop, stage of crop development and the molybdenum requirement (See the Product Label for comprehensive information on rates and application methods)
